Is Volunteering Abroad Safe?
Yes!
all of our programs are fully supervised from arrival to departure. You will always be accompanied by an experienced member of our team who knows the local area and community inside out.
It's rare, but if any problems or issues arise, there is always trained staff available nearby to keep your teen safe and secure, 24/7.
We also carry out thorough risk assessments to ensure that all of our projects are safe and politically stable. For more information on how we keep our volunteers safe, read our approach to safety and backup.
"From the very first day, our support quite literally could not have been better.
Our main Projects Abroad contact and our two other support staff, did quite literally absolutely everything they could to make our stay easy, enjoyable, stimulating and any other adjective you can think of!" Vicki James
Will I Volunteer Alone?
No! - You won't volunteer alone.
Instead, you'll build lasting friendships with global peers while working together for a better tomorrow.
Since 1992, we've helped 138,000+ volunteers travel abroad and make a difference. Every year we welcome, hundreds of teen volunteers on our 'High School Specials' - programs tailor-made for groups teens aged 15 to 18.
These programs only run during summer vacation and follow structured itineraries, so many other proactive teens find it perfect for using their summer productively.
