This page provides important information that explains what to prepare before departing and what will happen when you arrive at your destination. Please make sure you have a saved copy of this page on your phone, or a printed copy to refer to.
Travel Checklist
One week before departing you should go over the following checklist to make sure you have everything you need before heading to the airport:

- Valid passport for 6 months after your return with your approved visa
- Yellow Fever Vaccine Certificate
- Proof of Sufficient Funds (printed bank statement or a screenshot of your bank balance)
- A printed copy of your flight itinerary
- Travel insurance
- Local Address in Ghana: House Number 33, Sir. Arku Korsah Rd, Accra, Ghana, +233552511995
- Emergency phone numbers added to your mobile phone and written down on a piece of paper (see below)
- A small amount of cash to exchange during your induction (the higher the denomination the better).
Arriving at the airport
You will be given an immigration and/or a customs form to fill in during your flight. Please fill it out and if you need assistance, ask a flight attendant.
When you arrive in Ghana, you will pass through a health checkpoint where your temperature will be taken and they will also request to see your YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION certificate. You will then proceed to immigration checks, where you will be asked for the form that you to filled out during your flight. It will be at this stage that you are stamped into Ghana and your adventure begins!

Collect your luggage and make your way through customs. The custom officials may request to go through your bags, please comply with this formality. Once cleared you will exit the airport into the arrivals hall where you will be met by a member of staff holding up a Projects Abroad sign. Please note, your name will not be on the sign.
Meeting our staff

Our staff will meet you at the airport arrivals hall. They will hold a sign saying Projects Abroad. Please note the sign will not have your name on it.
If you are arriving after 5 pm in Accra and your project is based outside of Accra, our team will take you to Mrs. Afrifa's house to spend the night, she has been one of our trusted hosts for over 20 years. Address: No. 3 Almond Close, Teshie-Nungua, Accra. You will then be picked up by our team on the following morning by 9 am. They will take you on an induction tour where you will have a chance to change money and buy a local sim card.
In the extremely rare event that the staff member coming to meet you is late and you do not see anyone holding a Projects Abroad sign at the airport or if you experience any flight delays, please call:
