Travel Checklist

One week before departing you should go over the following checklist to make sure you have everything you need before heading to the airport:

  • Valid passport for 6 months after your return
  • Nationalities that need to get visa on arrival must have 2 empty pages on their passport, 2 passport size photos and a support letter from Projects Abroad
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds (printed bank statement or a screenshot of your bank balance)

  • Local address in Romania. This can be found on your MYPA page
  • Emergency phone numbers added to your mobile phone and written down on a piece of paper (see below)

Arriving at the airport

During your flight you will receive an Arrivals Card that you must fill in. Please use the following address on the Arrivals Card where it asks for address:

Miron Costin No.4, Brasov, 500090, Romania

When you first arrive in Romania you will pass through the immigration checks, where you need to hand in the form. It will be at this stage that you are stamped into Romania and your adventure begins!

Next, you can go on to collect your baggage in the baggage reclaim area.

Once you have claimed your luggage you will make your way through customs. The custom officials may request to go through your bags. Please comply with this formality. Once cleared you will exit the airport into the arrivals hall where you will be met by a member of staff holding up a Projects Abroad sign.

Meeting our staff

Our staff will meet you at the airport arrivals hall. They will hold a sign saying Projects Abroad. Please note the sign will not have your name on it.

In the extremely rare event that the staff member coming to meet you is late and you do not see anyone holding a Projects Abroad sign at the airport or if you experience any flight delays, please call Alexandra Ichim +40 720 530 617.
