When you volunteer with Projects Abroad, you can earn a Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) was established by President George W. Bush in 2003. It honors people whose service positively impacts communities and who, through offering their time and talents, inspire others to take action too.
How to get the Presidential Volunteer Service Award
To receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award, you must be a U.S. citizen or US Permanent Resident and have completed your service within the last twelve months.
A special President’s Call to Service Award is available to anyone who completes more than 4,000 hours of service during their lifetime.

The age brackets for eligibility mean that the Bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award for high school students can be awarded for completing 50 or more hours of service with us if you are 15 years old, or over 100 hours if you are 16 years or older.

Applying for your Presidential Volunteer Service Award
