This immersive 15-weeks away from the lecture hall dives deep into Sustainable Development & Environmental Studies.
Costa Rica is a 'natural fit' for an exceptional environmental studies program as it has one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world.
This program blends classroom learning with hands-on experiences, empowering you to become a global steward for ecosystems and biodiversity.

Where Will I Be Staying?
Instead of a cabin, you’ll live in Elida Trails & Eco-Lodge, affectionately known as "The Forest."
Nestled in a serene 23-acre private forest reserve, this family-run eco-lodge offers a peaceful retreat, approximately 1 mile from Santa Elena Town and a short stroll from the campus.
Located just a 5-minute walk from the enchanting Eternal Rainforest, exclusive hiking trails, and beautifully maintained gardens; Elida Trails & Eco-Lodge is your gateway to the wonders of Monteverde.
All students receive three meals per day and we can accommodate a variety of dietary needs.

What are the Program Requirements and Dates?
This program is open to all majors, not just those that are environment-focused.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required
- Currently enrolled in university or recently graduated
- No Spanish language experience or prerequisites required
